Soldier of thunder and courage

Spent last night drawing old characters and rethinking them. Vincent, probably still a vampire and Anita, young girl in early college I think (used to be high school) who is Korean/Irish with adorable freckles.

Vincent is pleasant and kind and friendly but always a bit distant like he’s keeping a secret. Anita is shy, nervous, a bit unconfident.

Paz is so very tsun. She tried hard to convince herself that she didn’t like BB at all, as seen with her diary. Secretly, she’s one of his #1 fans ;) ha ha. Paz with her BB tee, Zeke slippers, and BB and Kaz dollies. She just wants everything to last until after the ‘day of peace’. Such conflicting feelings, to warm up to those you’re supposed to deceive and possibly kill.

college is just “what the hell”

edgebug:

instead of watching the 50 Shades trailer, why not just make awkward eye contact with a total stranger at the grocery store for a solid 2 minutes and 34 seconds? you get the same skin-crawling, uncomfortable feeling but without the shitty writing, terrible acting and massive dose of rape culture

Mahou Shoujo Ore is a 2-Volume BL manga. It may get an anime adaptation in the future.
The basic rundown of its key features is:
15 year old girl is a newbie idol in love with her best friend’s brother who is also a popular idol.
She runs into a scary yakuza guy and finds out her mother was an ex-magical girl, the yakuza was her mascot.
Her love interest gets kidnapped by demons that look like burly men with cute squirrel heads.
She contracts the yakuza to become a magical girl, which in this story means she turns into a handsome guy in a magical girl outfit.
Her magical staff does jack shit and she literally beats the enemies to death with it.
Her love interest shows an attraction towards her magical guy form.
Her best friend (her love interest’s sister) turns out to be in love with her and later also becomes a magical crossdressing guy to save her life.
Their manager is a magical girl geek and decides to make them into an idol unit.

………………I want to see this.

I have a problem with this. What is so great about a girl having to become a GUY to be a magical girl? The point of the magical girl genre is to show that girls can be powerful and strong, while being pretty and feminine. Girl power. That girls do not have to become a ‘man’ in any way to be strong. They just need to be themselves.

//….Wow yeah…Idk this doesn’t sit right .___.; Why should she become a guy to fight/ Why should she use brute strength to beat the crap out of her enemies with her magical staff…? We have a ton of anime about guys beating the crap out of thing with their fists and staffs. I’d rather see something like precure—where the magical girls have their staffs and wands but also kick major butt with kicks and punches and tackles and etc? Or heck, get rid of the staffs and just do that! Girls using THEIR strength not the strength of a guy/guy’s body? That doesn’t sit right with me at ALL. Plus it’s kind of sounding like a
Maybe it seems nitpicky and “lol why can’t you just have fun with something new and different?” Sorry, but magical girl anime is supposed to be the genre that is about girls, for girls, empowering girls. There are SO MANY genres and anime where guys take the spotlight and magical girl is the place where it’s about GIRLS. And that can look like a lot of different things but…I’d rather it not look like this tbh.
