Sora visits Shibuya and must enter the game in order to destroy the heartless and nobodies that are preventing Neku from completing his missions and therefore winning the game. But with Shiki missing, Sora must become Neku’s partner, the pair form a pact and both learn a little more about the true meaning of friendship.

I know this wouldn’t be factually correct to The World Ends With You narrative but it wouldn’t be canon to the original game.
